The Flames played sloppy all night especially in their own zone which led to a good portion of the Wolfpack goals. Pack goaltender Rob Canitano had a good game despite giving up 12 goals while at the other end Jim DeMarco had his mind on post game activities as his level of sharpness was at a minimum. A ridiculous 62 minutes in penalties were handed out during this contest and every single Wolfpack goal was an unassisted individual effort, a Flames own zone turnover, or a fluke tally. Needless to say, this was the strangest game in some time for the Flames

Walt Heid got the Flames on the board first with two goals. With the Flames down 4-2, on Wolfpack goals by Montague and Baker, Bryan Cobb split the defense and deked out Canitano cutting the score to 4-3. Carl Tarwacki wackied in his second goal of the year making the score 5-3 at halftime. The Flames turning point came 3 minutes into the second half after another Baker goal when Joe Cardaccio found Rob DeMarco who tagged the top corner for his first goal of the season cutting the deficit to 6-4. Joe Cardaccio wasn't done yet as he buried his 8th and 9th goals of the season knotting the score at six in a clutch moment of the hockey game.

The Wolfpack would take the lead back when Casey Baker scored his fourth of the game making it 7-6.

With the Flames on the powerplay, the puck was sent on net where Tim Snyder took a couple wacks at it before the whistle blew when, argueably the toughest player in the league, James Conway, decided to drill Snyder in the back of the head. With Snyder on the ground Casey Baker decided to jump in on Snyder while Cobb was restraining Conway. When Snyder got to his feet he roundhouse kicked Conway and Baker in the face which earned all three players game misconducts and helped script the outcome of the game...

With Baker and Conway gone for the evening, on the ensuing play, Walter Heid would set up Rob DeMarco for a beautiful game-tying goal and high-stick in the face for his efforts. That set up a powerplay where Walt Heid would score on a great individual effort putting the Flames ahead for the first time in the hockey game with six minutes remaining. Walt would to it again, this time on the backhand giving him his fourth goal of the night and his team leading 27th point. Corcoran and Cobb would set each other up for the last two Flames goals sealing the victory.

Paul Luini was nowhere to be found for this contest and Tim Snyder faces possible suspension for next game for his shananigans but with this being his 4th game, he's eligible for the playoffs regardless so whatever.
